Oxy Cutting & Heavy Steel Downsizing
Robinson Metals provides on-site oxy cutting and dismantling support to downsize heavy equipment, mobile plant, structural steel and oversized scrap for safe removal, transport and recycling.
Work is delivered under site hot work permit systems and client HSE controls, including isolations, lock-out procedures, spotters, lift coordination and mobile plant interactions.
Scope of Work
Cutting and decommissioning support includes downsizing, segregation and dismantling of fixed plant, process equipment, tanks, piping, structural steel, non-ferrous materials and mobile fleet components. These works are typically associated with shutdowns, maintenance, mine closure and asset retirement activities.
Execution & Controls
Cutting operations are completed under hot work permit conditions and supervised in accordance with mine-site safety procedures. Crews are experienced working around mobile plant, confined spaces, overhead hazards, fuel and oil contamination, high-temperature materials and live operational environments.
Segregation & Preparation
Material is segregated to improve downstream recycling yields and separate non-ferrous grades from ferrous streams. Copper, aluminium, stainless steel and other recoverable materials can be separated into dedicated bins or load plans to maximise recovery and support environmental reporting.
Interface with Decommissioning Programs
Cutting and dismantling activities can support wider decommissioning programs, mine closure works, shutdown scopes and asset retirement plans. Robinson Metals coordinates with client maintenance, HSE, production and project teams so dismantling work fronts align with site activities.
