Mining Asset Dismantling & Removal

Robinson Metals delivers dismantling and removal solutions for redundant mining equipment, fixed plant and associated infrastructure. Our crews dismantle, cut, segregate and prepare assets for loading and downstream recycling, supporting mine clean-ups and asset retirement programs. Works are delivered within site permit systems and integrate with client HSE controls to ensure safe execution around live operations.

Scope Of Work

Dismantling and removal covers a broad range of mobile and fixed assets including excavators, shovels, loaders, dump truck trays, mills, crushers, tanks, process steelwork, structural frames and non-ferrous equipment. Assets are downsized on site to meet transport, recycling or containerisation requirements depending on downstream pathways and commercial model.

Execution & Controls

Projects are delivered under hot work permits, mobile plant controls, isolations, lock-out procedures, lifting plans and spotter requirements. Crews are familiar with mine site permit-to-work (PTW) systems, JHAs, Take-5s and other site safety processes and can interface directly with client HSE, maintenance and operations teams.

Dismantling Methods

  • oxy/thermal cutting

  • mechanical dismantling with excavators & attachments

  • bolted component breakdown

  • non-ferrous segregation

  • downsizing for transport & recycling

  • loading & logistics coordination

This approach allows for heavy mining assets to be removed efficiently without structural demolition scope.

Downstream Pathways

Material can be bulked into road-trains, flat-beds or containerised for downstream recycling depending on grade, volume and commercial viability. Where required, Robinson Metals can also provide environmental reporting that outlines recovered tonnages, recycling streams and landfill diversion performance.

Client Outcomes

  • frees up operational laydown areas

  • supports mine shutdown & closure activities

  • reduces landfill exposure & waste costs

  • enables value recovery from redundant assets

  • reduces client resourcing in remote locations

  • provides clear disposal & compliance pathways

Sectors Served
